Benefit for the NOLA Food Map Project
Dear Editor:
More than ever before, New Orleans residents understand the challenges of navigating in a city with limited numbers of grocery stores and restaurants. In other words, all New Orleanians now understand the importance of food access. The New Orleans Food and Farm Network (NOFFN) has created the NOLA Food Map Project to show residents in devastated areas where to find food; from grocery stores and farmers’ markets, to restaurants and emergency kitchens.
To help promote and support our NOLA Food Map project, local chefs are pitching in to support food justice for the returning citizens of New Orleans. A portion of the restaurant proceeds on Wednesday, June 21st will go to support the NOLA Food Map Project.
Support the “Food for Our Sake” event by dining out on Wednesday, June 21st at the following restaurants: Bayona, Brigtsen’s Restaurant, Cafe Degas, Cafe Giovanni, Dante’s Kitchen, GW Fins, Herbsaint, Iris, Karma Kitchen at the Bridge Lounge, Mat & Naddie’s Restaurant, Muriel’s Jackson Square Bistro, Parasol’s Restaurant, Parkway Bakery & Tavern, Sara’s, Savvy Gourmet, and Upperline Restaurant.
