Desire Streetcar Petition Drive
To All Concerned Neighborhoods and Citizens,
It was announced at the last Vieux Carre Commission that the Desire Streetcar Project is on hold, since we have been told that the Mayor has switched his focus to the Airport light rail project. Unless we demonstrate that the communities which would be serviced by the Desire Streetcar want and need it, our project will not be reconsidered. Therefore, this petition is very important.
The Desire Streetcar Line is needed to revitalize the North Rampart and St. Claude corridor and improve the transit experience for our residents that rely on public transportation by providing a faster and more reliable mode of transportation.
Please collect signatures on the attached petition and drop off at VCPORA office (Esplanade and Rampart).
