The Save Big Easy Organization

The ultimate goal of the Save Big Easy Organization is to aid in the recovery of the great city of New Orleans. Among the plethora of challenges currently facing the city in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the most pressing is the need to repair and upgrade the levee system. The most tragic effects of Hurricane Katrina were caused not by the actual storm but rather by the very human failures of the levees protecting New Orleans. In order for New Orleans to truly recover, people will need to believe in the effectiveness of the levee system. Therefore, our organization is calling on Congress to appropriate funds to strengthen the levees protecting the city to a point where they will be able to withstand Category 5 hurricanes. We are need widespread public support for this effort, and everyone can help by visiting www.savebigeasy.org and signing our online petition. This petition will be sent to Congress to demonstrate the American people’s support for an upgraded levee system. Sign the petition, spread the word, and do not give up on our beloved city.
