Jane’s Walk 2011
Apr 29 2011

This year, 15 walkers from as far away as Toronto and France and as close as around the corner joined The Urban Conservancy’s Dana Eness for the third annual “Only on Oak Street” walk on Saturday, May 7. Other New Orleans walks took place in the Irish Channel and on Freret Street. See photos from Jane’s Walks throughout the US.
About Jane’s Walks
Jane Jacobs was a brilliant urban proponent with a simple philosophy: if a city isn’t walkable, it isn’t functional. The more people-friendly a city’s streets, the safer and more dynamic they become.
Each year thousands across Canada and the US celebrate Jane’s work and vision with neighborhood walks the first weekend in May.
