Dwyer Road

The Goal:

Turn a neglected, overgrown stretch of road into a demonstration of green infrastructure, with cypress trees, rain gardens, and regular maintenance.

The Partners:

The Melia Neighborhood Association, Pines Village Neighborhood Association, Entergy’s Environmental Initiatives Fund, and Mastodonte, LLC.

The Work:

A constituent told us that he could use some green infrastructure in his community–a trifecta of neighborhoods just inside New Orleans East who work together to bring resources to people who feel neglected by City government. We taught neighbors the GI basics and worked with them to quickly and easily identify the spot they wanted to give some love to.
