Lindsay Pick is a born and raised (seventh generation) New Orleanian who started The Okra Inn in 2014. Formerly, she started and co-owned a wetlands educational tour company called Louisiana Lost Lands Tours–which is still running strong, taking visitors into the wetlands on kayaks and motor boats to teach them about coastal erosion and show them the beauty of the coast. Prior to that she wrote and produced Category Five/Wetlands Watch, a local PBS series focused on coastal land loss. Now, in addition to running The Okra Inn, she is very active in the city and its surrounding areas. Lindsay earned a Bachelors in Sociology and Psychology from Tulane University and a Masters in Urban Planning with a focus on flood protection from the University of New Orleans.
