Project Assistant, Urban Conservancy
Magin Maier is the Urban Conservancy’s Project Assistant. She provides support for the Front Yard Initiative (FYI), Building Active Stewardship in New Orleans (BASIN), and grants management.
Prior to joining the Urban Conservancy, Magin held a smorgasbord of gigs including: construction site supervisor for a rebuilding organization, behavior therapist working with children on the Autism spectrum, production assistant for a local artist, and cacao farmhand in Costa Rica.
Magin graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University in 2017, with an M.S. in Disaster Resilience Leadership Science and an emphasis on environmental mitigation and hazard preparedness. She is particularly interested in disaster risk, specifically the interaction between the natural environment and human infrastructure, as well as developing community potential in preparedness and recovery efforts. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans.
Magin is excited to continue working alongside those who are actively building a more resilient, sustainable future for the city. You can usually find her biking, backpacking, or eating a burger.
