Meghan Garhan

Board Member, Vice President

Meghan Garhan has been a practicing Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in Louisiana since graduating from the Dietetic Internship at Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2011.

Since 2012, Meghan has worked to implement a holistic wellness and nutrition program targeting increased health access and education for the unique needs of the workforce on offshore oil platforms across the Gulf of Mexico.

In 2016 Meghan bought her first home in Mid-City, New Orleans and became a participant in the Urban Conservancy’s Front Yard Initiative, where her passion and education around native plants, floodwater-friendly infrastructure and community responsibility really began.

Since that experience, Meghan has completed the Louisiana Master Naturalist Program and volunteered at Jean Lafitte National Park and Preserve, hoping to pass on knowledge as well as ignite passion in others for our natural surroundings. Meghan is excited to be involved with the Urban Conservancy as a board member and continue to learn how we can sustainably live and prosper in this city.

Meghan has also volunteered at the NOJC and for Girls on the Run in New Orleans and enjoys gardening, cooking, canoeing and beaning Mardi Gras costumes.
